When I was pregnant with Shelby I received a copy of What to Expect When You’re Expecting and since then I’ve been hooked on the What to Expect books! And when Mom Central asked me to review the What to Expect Healthy Home Growth Cart I jumped at the chance.

The What to Expect Foundation teamed up with Clorox to created the free downloadable PDF, which is available here… http://www.clorox.com/healthier_lives/article.php?subsection=new_moms&article_id=what_to_expect\, and is full of helpful tips on how to keep your home safer and healthier for your family. It has tips for age groups from birth – 5 years and the last page is a great print-out for moms to post on the fridge or distribute to playgroup members for quick tips.

It starst off with “Did you know that the average child can touch up to about 300 surfaces every 30 minutes? It’s no wonder my kids bring so many germs home from school. That many kids touching that many things… yuck! It goes on to say to pay special attention when you’re cleaning to light switches, door knobs, phones, and other items, which is GREAT advice. I don’t think I’ve ever wiped off our telephones, but everyone uses them, therefore everyone touches them and spreads germs.

Though I think my favorite tip is “To show germs and allergens to the door after a playdate, toss stuffed animals in the laundry. If a stuffed toy isn’t machine washable, you can put it in a plastic bag in the freezer overnight to help get rid of those dust mites.” I had never heard of putting them in the freezer! That’s a great idea, and sealed the deal that the What to Expect Healthy Home Growth Cart is going on our refrigerator.

That’s only a small portion, there are a lot of great tips in it and like I said, it’s a FREE download, you gotta love that, so go check it out… http://www.clorox.com/healthier_lives/article.php?subsection=new_moms&article_id=what_to_expect\

I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Clorox and the What to Expect Guide and received a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.
