I decided to postpone the swingset a bit longer and bought the kids a new pool to play in. It was a spur of the moment decision, and I’m positive the kids won’t mind waiting a little longer for the swingset. Colby BBQed yesterday and needed aluminum foil so Shelby and I went to town to get it for him, and when we walked past the swimming pools and her eyes lit up lol. I told her we just came after aluminum foil and I was going to grab some snacks for them and we needed to hurry because Colby was waiting on us to start the corn. So we get our stuff and we start to head back to the cashier to pay and I thought about how humid it already was, so we went back and got a pool lol.

The kids spotted it as soon as I picked the box up out of the truck and practically attacked me, and while I was unpacking the snacks they aired the pool up.

Then the hose wouldn’t reach and they didn’t want to wait for Colby to go get the brush truck from the fire house so they started carrying water in 5 gallon buckets.

They put maybe an inch in the bottom and were playing in the freezing cold water while they waited for Colby to get back.

They tried to get me to join them, but there is no way I was stepping into that ice cold water, and I need to lose 20 pounds before I’ll even consider putting a swimsuit on. Hmm, think anyone would have an elliptical listed on freecycle around here?

Now they can’t wait to get out of school early Thursday so they can play in the pool all day. What’s so funny about it all is they’re more excited about this little pool than they were the last 3 years with the 3′ deep quick set pool we had lol. Crazy kids!
