I made BigBrother’s favorite dinner on back-to-school night. And a big, fun breakfast on the morning of back-to-school. He also got a new book and a coloring book when he got home from school.
My son went back to school on August 17th. I tried to make it fun by buying bunches of his favorite snacks and breakfast stuff. This is not making it fun but I think it is real important to tell him every day how smart he is and how proud I am of him.

I took the kids clothes shopping one at a time, and let them pick out their school backpack and reuseable lunch bag, and that made them excited. I took them each out to lunch too, and we talked about school and all the things to look forward to.

We homeschool our three kids, but they still think that the back-to-school time is fun, because the parks and stores and arcades are much less crowded. I also get them some new fall and winter items too.

I tried to make going back to school fun by taking in some activities that we don’t normally do, along with the shopping for supplies and clothes. During the year I also pack special things in their lunch on special days like Valentines and I bring lunch from a favorite place on their birthday. Thanks for the chance!
With list in hand (important)… making a special day out of shopping for school supplies, include lunch at their favorite place and maybe an ice cream treat to top off the day.
We have a tradition for a few years now, whereby I bake a cake shaped into something school related on the first day of school. This year I made a school bus. In the past, I’ve made crayons, pencils and a book. The kids really look forward to this each year and they never know what I’ll be making until the end of the first day of school.
Thanks so much for this giveaway.
I’m a subsciber.
Thanks again.
The night before school starts we get out the new backpacks, and all of the school supplies and set them up. Then we pack lunches and store them in the fridge for the next morning.

We have a special get back to school Saturday, where we devote the entire day to doing things to get ready.
We go shopping for new school clothes, bookbags and all the other things that they need for school. They are so excited to have new stuff and to see their friends again that back to school time is pretty easy.
we redo the room for school and get a bbq for friends together
Believe it or not they love going to school so much I don’t have to give them more of an incentive to go but something I do is tell them “maybe the teacher you get this year will give you candy everyday if you behave” It kinda works haha
I bought my girls their favorite snacks and breakfast foods. I also came home from work early so we could talk about all the great things that happened that day.
We go to the store during tax free weekend. They like picking out folders, backpacks etc. It gets them all excited.
For my kidlets, I make little cards with positive affirmations on them! Positive sayings like, “The More I like Myself, the More Others Like Themselves!”, and “No one is any more or less worthy than I am!” Thank you for the contest!
We go shopping for all their supplies. The kiddos love it. Thanks!
This looks awesome
The kids started school today. We made a fuss yesterday. Went out to breakfast. Mom and Dad BOTH took them to the bus stop, ect. Wer always have a family discussion after the first day of school- I can’t wait!

It’s fun for them to pick out their school supplies while shopping.
We homeschool, so we don’t have to worry about these things.
The night before before school starts every year, I make an Apple pie to welcome in the new year. It is a reminder that both school and fall are upon us! Thanks for the chance.

My boys are ready to go back because of soccer! We have a little party for the class at the neighborhood park and play soccer.
We do a celebration of sorts always on the Sunday of the week that they go back. We go out to breakfast as a family to celebrate a good start. Then we take them for their backpacks and lunchboxes and let them choose what they want. Then its off to the grocery store and they pick out their favorites to put in their new lunch boxes for the week.
We make a big deal of out school shopping. I let the kids pick out their own clothes and accessories (within reason)
