About Tropical Traditions Organic Insect Repellent:

Tropical Traditions all natural insect repellent is made from only the finest ingredients available, and is therefore completely safe for children and for application to the entire body including the face. We use no harmful chemicals or artificial fragrances. Our base, as with all our skin care products, is our very own Organic Virgin Coconut Oil. Natural coconut oil has been used to apply to the skin and ward off insects traditionally in tropical climates for hundreds of years.

Ingredients: purified water, organic virgin coconut oil, organic jojoba, emulsifying wax (plant based, no soy), grapefruit seed extract, virgin palm oil, and organic essential oils of citronella, catnip, lemongrass, peppermint, and tansy.

My Thoughts:

Did your mom ever tell you that if a medicine tastes bad, it means it will work good? My grandma did me, and that is all I can think of every time I open the bottle of insect repellent. It stinks awful, but it works wonderful. I take that back, it doesn’t actually stink, stink, it’s just smells like citronella… which I hate! But I can actually apply the insect repellent and watch the mosquitoes flying around my arms and not landing to bite… so I don’t care how bad I think it stinks, I’m going to keep using it lol.

Other positives:

  • It soaks into your skin and doesn’t feel greasy.
  • It is organic.
  • It contains no DEET or other chemicals.
  • It does not irritate skin, not even Lucas or Logan who both have extremely sensitive skin.
