I didn’t get complete “before” pictures of the girls’ room, but here is what it looked like after Colby had the new OSB on the walls and I’d started painting and tore up all the carpet.

Due to the texture of the OSB, I had to paint the first coat with a brush and it took FOREVER, then the floor was seriously NASTY underneath the carpet and took me hours to clean up! At this point I was wondering why I ever thought remodeling this room for Shelby and Cassie was a good idea.

I scraped all the glue up and cleaned the dirt, and mopped it twice before I decided it was clean. Then I finished the painting.

I decided that if carpet let dirt through like that, then never want to put down carpet again, so Saturday when Shelby went to the movies with Bonnie, I took Cassie to pick out tile.

I wasn’t sure what I thought of it, but I went ahead and did half of the room and put up the trim to think about it. By then the girls were too excited not to start moving furniture in lol.

Even being half done, it’s the most popular room in the house. Who would think the boys wanted to hang out in a room with a purple wall?

The girls love the tile as much as the purple wall, so I finished it up and moved all their furniture in.

I still have to finish putting up the trim, which I’ll be doing tonight while they’re at church, but the room is mostly done. I’m hoping Colby will also put up the new light fixture tonight and replace the outlet that I kinda broke (oops).

Shelby is especially proud that she helped me build the trundle bed frame that slides out from under Cassie’s bed. She has been telling everyone how good she is with a drill lol.

Now we’re waiting on the Your Zone furniture and decor to arrive from Walmart so we can decide on final furniture placement and get their mirror, cork boards and stuff up on the walls. They cannot wait!!!
