More on the Eureka Pet Pal Bagless Vacuum. Read my initial thoughts here… http://blog.christyscre…/

Apparently the very first time I used the Eureka Pet Pal Bagless Vacuum, it got clogged up. I thought that may have been the problem so I’d already used a broom stick to make sure there wasn’t anything stuck in the hose, alas that isn’t where the dog’s hair had gotten stuck! It was in the very first bend, below the duster attachment or hose! I didn’t find it until I was ready to return the thing and was taking it apart. Yes, I was that frustrated with it.

However, after finding the problem, and reassembling the vacuum it’s working fine. Not excellent, not great, just fine. And for $80 I think fine is what is to be expected.

The filter still gets dirty pretty fast, but as long as I wash it out after every use of the vacuum it’s okay. And I’m not saying that it has to be washed out every time I change rooms or anything, just when I’ve wrapped the cord up and the Eureka Pet Pal Bagless Vacuum is heading for the closet, I take the filter to the sink and run water through it until it runs clear. It’s a bit of a pain, but at least the vacuum works when I go to use it again.

I’ve also learned that it’s a very loud vacuum. Wyatt actually asked me why I got a vacuum that is so loud, to which I laughed and told him I had no way of hearing how it would be in the store. It amazes me how kids think sometimes.

I think in the end I am happy with the vacuum, for $80 I don’t expect it to work miracles or make my carpet look like new again, and as long as my house is clean, I am pleased. With an empty canister and clean filter the Eureka Pet Pal Bagless Vacuum works like a charm, and if that means I have to put in a little extra work to get it that way, it’s okay. In all honesty, you get what you pay for.

Thanks for the review. We have a puppy who sheds and I’ve been thinking about getting a new vacuum.

Thank you for the review. I’d never heard of this vacuum before, but…I think I’ll stick with my vacuum with the HEPA filter and the special pet attachment. Pricey, but does a pretty good job of picking up cat hair, and doesn’t clog.
