Rechargeable batteries are a great solution for high-tech devices like digital cameras, GPS units, wireless gaming remotes, and for all of those other devices that just seem to suck the juice out of batteries. However, at the shelf it may be confusing which battery to buy. Do I but the 2450 mAh or the 2600 mAh battery? What does mAh mean? Well, Energizer has just made your decision much easier with their introduction of the new and improved Energizer Rechargeable AA battery.
As a result of advances in rechargeable battery technology, Energizer has increased the capabilities of its widely-used AA rechargeable battery. Consumers will see the benefits in increased charge cycles and longer charge retention while holding capacity at a high rate – all without an increase in price.
Okay, so what does that really mean? It means that the new rechargeable batteries can be charged up to 500 times and you will get up to 150 more charging cycles than previous Energizer® 2450mAh Rechargeable batteries. The new battery will continue to last up to four times longer than Energizer® Max® batteries in digital cameras, but now holds more charge at 6 months than previous Energizer Rechargeable AA.
It seems like everything in our house takes batteries, video cameras, digital cameras, gameboy, cd player, Colby’s pager, we even still have a mp3 player that takes batteries! So, I’m sure you can imagine how many batteries we go through a year. It’s crazy, and expensive, that’s why I love rechargeable batteries!
Last year when Colby bought my camera our Rayovac 15 minute rechargeable batteries weren’t staying charged long enough to do anything and they’re no longer made, so I bought a new Rayovac charger and batteries. I thought I’d stick with the same brand since the last ones had served the purpose for so long. Well, to put it simple, they sucked! They took 8 hours to charge and would only stay charged for 20 – 24 hours in my camera. I’m sure you can imagine how many great photo oportunities I missed because the batteries were dead. I’d spent so much $$ for them I couldn’t justify tossing them and getting a new brand, so I just made due.
Then, last month, Energizer sent me a set of their Energizer® 2450mAh Rechargeable batteries and WOW, what a difference! They only take 3 – 4 hours to charge and they stay charged for 2 – 3 days. I charged them Thursday afternoon and yesterday I took over 100 pictures, and they still have charge left in them.
And since the charger base collapses when not in use, it fits neatly in my camera bag, so I always know where to find it. With Christmas coming, and even more items coming into the house that need batteries, I’ll be stocking up with Energizer® rechargeable batteries!

Oh and lest I forget every talking stuffed animal known to man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now that I think of it, I bet I could have financed that trip to Hawaii I’ve always wanted with all the cash spent on batteries. Rechargeable is definitely the way to go! And I think I now know what profitable stock to invest in : )
