Back in November, Lucas was diagnosed with eczema and prescribed Cutivate lotion to help moisturize his skin and try and prevent the rash. Now, when I filled the prescription I asked if it would sting or burn because putting baby lotion on him was like trying to bathe a cat, and the pharmacist assured me it wouldn’t.

So fast-forward. We’ve been using the Cutivate for almost 2 months and every time I’ve put it on Lucas he’s whined and complained and insisted it burned. I knew it didn’t because I’d tried it on myself and it didn’t even sting when I rubbed it over the scratch from the rabbit (and everything seems to make animal scratches hurt). I’ve ended up pretending to wipe it off of him after it’s already soaked into his skin, and it’s made him happy.

Then last night I was busy when Lucas was getting ready for bed, so I gave Colby the lotion for him to do it. I walked through the livingroom and Lucas was sitting there patiently, not uttering a sound, while Colby rubbed it all over his arms and back. I stopped and watched for a minute, wondering what the difference in Colby doing it or me was, then asked Lucas, “Aren’t you forgetting to cry?” Then I about died laughing at the look on his face (he knew he was busted) then he started in, “Ouch, it hurts, wipe it off!”

Are you kidding me? It’s too late now buddy! You are caught. LOL!

We told him to knock it off, it was too late to start that now, he proved it didn’t hurt him! Looks like Cassie isn’t our only drama queen!
