After the nightmare of the Didj, I wanted to make sure the thing really worked before giving an update…
Lucas’s new Didj arrived on January 5th, which was surprisingly fast and made him happy. He played it once before supper and when he turned it on later it needed a “tune up”. Then another. Then another. By then I was ready to trash it and go buy him something different, so I put it down and walked away. Lucas cried himself to sleep that night because he was certain that this replacement Didj was broken as well.
The next day it took two more “tune ups” before it would finally work… and since then *knock on wood* it has worked fine. And, for the most part, Lucas is now happy with it. I still would not recommend a Didj to anyone, ever, and in the future I will be VERY hesitant before I recommend anything from LeapFrog, but at least there was a happy ending to all the Didj drama.
Thanks for this review…I have been wondering about these portable gaming devices and I really appreciate your honesty. I mean before you invest too much money into the device and the games you want to make sure they will last awhile. Thanks again for your honest opinion…I appreciate it.
I agree with Sally.
