Chocolate Pie
Kyle’s favorite desert Thanksgiving desert is Chocolate Pie. Last year he was complaining that his grandma didn’t make one, so while he and Colby were putting wood in the furnace I grabbed the extra pie crust I had and made one. You’d have thought the kid won the lottery!
Well, he’s already asked me three times this weekend if I’m going to make him one again this year. Of course I will, and since he’s put it on my mind I thought it would be the perfect recipe to share. Really though, it’s so simple I’m not sure it should even be called a recipe…
- 1 box instant chocolate pudding
- 1 cup milk
- pre-made graham cracker pie crust
With an electric mixer or whisk, mix pudding and 1 cup milk until blended well. Pour pudding into pie crust. Refrigerate 1 hour.
If you want to spruce it up you can drizzle chocolate syrup over it, top it with Cool Whip or chocolate chips, or even add chocolate shavings to it (which are easy to make with a block of bakers chocolate and a potato peeler).
I didn’t have time to regrigerate for an hour last year, so I stuck it in the freezer for 15 minutes… it worked. And of course, when Kyle’s grandma makes a Chocolate Pie, she does it from scratch, but honestly he couldn’t tell the difference.

This sounds so easy and yummy I might have to try it. Thanks!
I think it’s great that you can take the short-cuts and still make the little ones happy with a Chocolate pie.
