BRUGO A Perfect Degree of Taste

As you probably know, it’s been more than a few years since lawsuits involving scalding cups of “to-go” coffee made front-page news, but the ongoing problems experienced by those consuming hot beverages away from home have resulted in a need for a revolutionizing invention, such as the BRUGO mug .

BRUGO is patented technology that allows coffee and tea enthusiasts to enjoy every sip of their hot beverage in the “Perfect Temperature Zone”, while eliminating the spills, spatters and burned lips that are a familiar part of the “to-go” coffee experience.

Fresh coffee is brewed at 205 degrees, but its vibrant flavors are most distinguishable and pleasing at around 150 to 170 degrees. By using a simple “tip and sip” motion, BRUGO^™ users transfer sip-sized amounts (one fluid ounce) of their hot beverage to the temperature control chamber, where it immediately reaches this Perfect Temperature Zone. Only the liquid in the chamber is cooled and only this liquid exits the sip opening. This inventive system eliminates the need for coffee drinkers to blow on their beverage, add ice to it, or wait for it to cool.

The BRUGO^™ lid has three options: LOCK, TIP & COOL, and SIP. The LOCK setting seals the mug and is perfect for transporting the beverage without spilling. TIP & COOL gives the consumer the full benefits of the temperature control chamber. Once the beverage in the mug has cooled to a palatable temperature, users simply turn the dial to SIP and drink the beverage directly.

So, what did I think of the BRUGO mug?

I’m not a coffee drinker, but I love hot chicken broth and occasionally hot tea, and I hate to sit and wait for it to cool off enough to drink. It’s never made sense to me why we heat something until it’s too hot to drink, then sit and wait for it to cool off… whether it’s coffee, tea, cocoa, or whatever! They’re obviously better at a certain degree, but it’s seems like it’s soo much work to get it perfect.

That is why I liked the BRUGO so well… I could simply tip the mug, let the “temperature control chamber” fill, and my broth would be cool enough to drink in just a few seconds. Then, after the whole mug had completely cooled, turn the dial to sip and finish off my broth… yum! The “lock” setting makes the BRUGO perfect to fill and stick in the diaper bag when we are rushing out the door to run errands because I know I don’t have to worry about it spilling.

This winter, when it’s cold and we’re using hot cocoa to warm up, the BRUGO will be perfect for Lucas! The other kids are old enough not to get burned, but Lucas gets impatient and the BRUGO mug will solve the problem… and at the same time cause a second problem because all of the kids will be fighting over it lol.

I’m definitely a coffee fanatic. But I HATE burning my tongue on too-hot coffee (or food for that matter). This would be fabulous to stop those burns. I also have a daily commute to work, so this would get a workout by me.
