Brands That Actually Say What They Do and Do What They Say

With millions of messages swimming through our brains from radio, TV, print and online advertising, it can be overwhelming.  How do we separate the good companies from the bad? What companies are bending the truth to get the sales?  In the present economy, people are forced to make tough decisions on what to buy.  The power is back in the hands of the consumer, and they want to spend their hard-earned dollars on businesses that are actually working to make a difference.

To be the chosen one, brands must be authentic. The messages they spit out can’t only be taglines for people to remember. That tagline must be carried clear through the company in everything that they do. When companies are honest about their actions, consumers will start to notice. We have become a much more socially conscious society, and a company that is being socially responsible, will rise above the stormy sea of messages.

There are many social responsible companies out there. One in particular stands out because it provides a simple, easy way to help the environment. GoodLifeBottles.com was created in an effort to provide healthy alternatives to existing toxin leaching aluminum & plastic bottles. Their stylish, recyclable stainless steel products are not only healthy for you, but also for Earth’s precious eco-system. By purchasing a GoodLife bottle you are helping to save the planet by utilizing a product that is made from 100% recyclable materials, has no BPA’s or harmful toxins and helps to rid the world of unnecessary plastic water bottles.

GoodLifeBottles.com is transparent in their mission.  One of their messages is, “what’s in it for you?” They answer this question by providing factual information about the harm of plastic water bottles on our environment, with statistics that show the plastic the water bottle epidemic plaguing our planet. They have a focused cause they are fighting for and let the consumer know exactly why.  The company reaches out and works with like-minded groups, organizations and individuals who share the same passion for creating alternative options for a better world.  An authentic company with a socially responsible mission, plus a great, everyday product, should be a winning combination in many consumers eyes.

Another company that is transparent in their mission is Ben & Jerry’s, whose tagline is “joy for the belly and soul.” The company has a foundation called the Ben & Jerry’s Foundation, which supports organizations that are working at eliminating the underlying causes of environmental and social problems. The Foundation awards about $1.8 million annually to eligible organizations and is employee-led. If that isn’t a message going clear through the company, then I’m not sure what is.

In the end, it’s the consumer’s choice.  But, hopefully people will select company’s that are transparent and responsible with their power.  And then, hopefully, those companies will be remembered for more than just their tagline.
