A Soldier’s Wish List
This week Shelby’s middle school started collecting items for A Soldier’s Wish List. Here is the letter they sent home…
The Steelville Middle School has partnered with A Soldier’s Wish List for the second year, trying to help as many of our military as we can to know they are remembered at Christmas. We will be collecting items for our troops. These items will be taken to St. Louis, and will be sent to our troops overseas for Christmas.
If you can help, we would appreciate it! The thing Steelville folks can be proud of is that we may not have much, but we share what we can.
The 7th grade Current Events class will be organizing/wrapping the items. If you have any questions, they will be happy to find an answer for you.

Collection dates: November 2, 2009 – December 1, 2009
(We could also use wrapping paper, ornaments, etc., if anyone has extra.)
THANK YOU!!!
I’m encouraging all my local readers to donate what you can. Just drop it off at the middle school office and they’ll make sure it goes to the right classroom! We can’t possibly imagine what it’s like to be away from our families and loved ones for months at a time, especially over Christmas, and this is just a small way to say “Thank you for all you do!”, so please help!
And for everyone else out there, if you’d like to adopt a soldier yourself, there are many great organizations to go through…
